Walnut (wood)

There are 2 types of walnut; African and european. European walnut is variable in colour with greyish brown background marked with irregular dark smokey streaks. This is a hard wood sinilar to oak in strength. It is fairly easy to work, carves well and takes polishing well. African walnut is yellowish brown, sometimes marked with dark streaks.
